Vista MCE and HDTV

Yummy !!!

Just watched small portions of Into the Blue 1080i and Fifth Element 720p using my Windows Vista Media Center Setup
Images is nice and crisp. I really like it ! Althoug most of the files that I have that are HDTV are not compliant with the MCE setup (.mkv .ts etc)
Those two that did worked splendidly !!!

Windows Vista Post RC1 Build 5728

Quite some way from the old build (RC1)
Finally the IE7 starts to work like a webbrowser instead of a buggy piece of crap.
The system feels a lot more stable, still no "hangs", the MSN installed cleanly as did Firefox and trusty old Winamp 2.91

Looking good ! lets fire up the Media Center and see what happens.
As always the first time took forever. But the second time it really worked. Adding moviefolders also was painless. Library its called. The scanning takes a while, but thers no files on the local drive. They are all located on my small basement server.

And Ill have to try it with some  nonstandard x264 streams to really find out how good it is ..
<10 minute testing>
Well its actually quite good (for being an beta that is) =)
Still waiting for the Movie folder to be updated, but a few gigs of mp3s, movies and images takes a while to scan.

Also installed the beta for Symantec for Windows Vista. Looks likes it working tried the eicar file as well
